A word about this project

2018 | I had the privilege of photographing a session at Towson Freedom School, a community that seeks to amplify the voices of underrepresented thinkers and writers. Through shared readings and discussions, we explore how their ideas relate to our own experiences and the world around us, with the goal of fostering meaningful intellectual connections and relationships. At Towson Freedom School, we prioritize access to radical thinking, create open and brave spaces, and cultivate a spirit of radical love. Our community-oriented pedagogy helps us understand that the political and personal are intertwined, and empowers us to make positive change for people of color and other underrepresented groups.
